Gateway Metals 4140 PH Holder Block is a prehardened (quenched and tempered, stress relieved), high quality alloy steel intended for all mechanical uses where improved machinability is critical. A controlled sulfur process during production gives Gateway 4140 PH Holder Block its unique machinability and inclusion shape control throughout each block produced, making it an excellent choice for holder applications for both plastic molds and die casting packages. Product surface hardness range is 269-321 BHN. The general chemistry has limited hardenability and the interior hardness would be lower than surface hardness levels.
